I am happy to look back at the work we started over 10 years ago - a small group of us - design professionals, academics, construction folks and government policy wonks interested in sustainable design and green buildings began to organize in the hope of creating a larger community and transforming the marketplace for the betterment of design, of our environment, our planet and our future as a species on this precious place we call earth, our home. Never doubt the ability of an individual, or a small group of people who are passionate and invested in a cause to make a significant difference in the evolution and change to the status quo.
Well, it's official - the USGBC has announce the 2013 Class of LEED FELLOWS and I'm on it. I'm happy to be included in this year's class and by the looks of things, I am in esteemed company! I am one of fifty one individuals who have been honored for their contributions to the green building industry this year.
What's a LEED FELLOW you may ask?
"The LEED Fellow designates the most exceptional professionals in the green building industry - a highly accomplished class of individuals nominated by their peers and distinguished by the caliber of their contributions."
“The 2013 class of LEED Fellows is an extraordinary group of thought leaders, innovators and green building professionals dedicated to a healthy, sustainable future. Their commitment to LEED is transforming our built environment,” said Rick Fedrizzi, president, CEO & founding chair, USGBC. “We are honored to present these highly accomplished individuals with the LEED Fellow designation.”
